Thanks to BeatCrave for featuring us on their website! Click here to read the full article.  Below is an excerpt from their review:

“On the whole, theirs is a swirling, complex, multi-layered endeavor with respect to music as a living, breathing entity – so much so that they’ve the knack to let their instruments do the singing for them, so to speak. Thankfully, their talent is not confined to studio walls; their acoustic version of the lead track from their EP, which can be found on video below, is a testament to versatility and involved live exploration on the part of the audience – something we’d love to dive into ourselves.”

A few weeks ago, we were contacted by Denise Gideon of Southern Gothic Productions – a company devoted to the mastery of storytelling through the mediums of film, television, print, music, and the internet founded by One Tree Hill’s Hilarie Burton. Denise invited us to be interviewed on Southern Gothic Productions’ music podcast which aires twice a month.  We were lucky enough to be featured on the one year anniversary episode!  Click here to listen to the interview about the release of our new EP, “Paint the Stars” as well as our love for Mountain Dew. Denise also runs multiple podcasts (including One Tree Hill’s, Friday Night Lights’ and Family Records’).  We’re grateful to have a new friend in North Carolina that we can’t wait to visit!

We just received a review from 88 Miles West – to read the full article, click here.  One line from the review reads, “Brit-pop even comes to mind, but not whiney like Oasis. I can’t put my finger on it, but they certainly belong on the radio.” – Thanks guys!

We received a review from the Houston Calling – click here to read the full review, but you can read an excerpt below:

From the outset, the members of Houston’s Castle Lights make no bones about the torch they carry for the semi-recent wave of brooding, radio-friendly Britpop bands, and the group’s songs reflect the Coldplay-Snow Patrol-Keane-Starsailor-Travis school of pop songwriting. The thing is, Castle Lights’ songs are every bit as catchy as their better-known counterparts, with plaintive vocals and big walls of guitars that lets the band stand firmly on its own, despite the similarities to influences from across the pond.

We received our first album review from Jef Rouner of the Houston Press.  Click here to read the full article.  Below is an excerpt from the review:

“The title track is the true standout on the EP. It’s a song that we fully believe has never been played live without a chorus of upraised hands swaying throughout the audience. It just has an amazing, soul-lifting quality. It’s a call to a place that music so wants to go and so rarely gets to, namely that of the perfect tone to complete the tri-chord of heart, mind and music.”

“Who’s the singer?” we asked. Armstreet pointed over to Tyler Susuras, who was sitting barefoot on the couch behind us.

“I’m thinking seriously of killing you and eating you in order to possess your voice,” we told Susuras seriously. He looked disturbed, but pleased.”

“This is one of those moments that, as a music journalist, I’ve been personally waiting on for a long time.

I’ve known the guys in Castle Lights on a personal level for a while now, and have been a fan of various incarnations of bands that they’ve been in (Leeland and The Blinding, among others). So, when I found out that Aaron Eaves and Jeremiah Wood (a founding member of Leeland) were working together on this project, I knew that it would be something that would blow up in a big way for them.”
